Bryce Leber (Middletown High School)

 

Camden Farrow (Middletown High School)

Camden (Cam) Farrow graduated from Middletown High School and plans to major in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at York College. Cam also plans to wrestle there.  Cam has always been an active member in the student body- he was a leader for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the National Honor Society and the Math National Honor Society.  Cam is a decorated athlete for Middletown- he won the Paul Anders award- given to the football player that does the most with his given talent, and gives extra effort of practice, and training.  He was also the 2018, 195lb weight class wrestling state Champion.

Haven Brandenburg (Middletown High School) -Ron Engle and Fordham Lee Scholarships

Haven Brandenburg graduated with highest honors from Middletown High School in May of 2018.  She plans to attend Messiah College in the fall to major in Applied Health Science with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy.  Throughout high school, Haven was an active member of the National Honor Society, serving as Secretary, The Science National Honor Society, Key Club, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  During Haven’s high school career, she played on the basketball and field hockey teams for 4 years and lacrosse team for 2 years.  She served as captain for all three teams during her senior year.  Upon successful completion of her studies at Messiah College, she plans to pursue her doctorate in Physical Therapy.

 

Jordan Specht (Linganore High School)

Jordan Specht will be attending Hood College this fall. She plans on majoring in Biochemistry with a Pre-Med Advisory Program in hopes of continuing to medical school.  She would like to become an anesthesiologist or pediatric surgeon.  Jordan will be playing softball at Hood and also participating in the Honors Program.  During high school, she participated in field hockey, basketball, and softball.  She also volunteered as a U8 Co-Ed Instructional Basketball Coach for the past two years. Jordan graduated from Linganore High School in the top 5% of my class with a 4.6 weighted GPA.

 

Lisa Kneebone (Urbana High School)

Lisa Kneebone graduated from Urbana High School in May.  Ever since she was in kindergarten, she has dreamed of becoming a teacher.  To fulfill this dream, she is majoring in Elementary Education this fall at the University of Maryland.  When she graduates, she would like to teach at an elementary school in Maryland.  She just finished an internship at Urbana Elementary School with a class of fourth graders and she loved it.  It confirmed her conviction that she wants to pursue teaching as a career.  She would like to be able to guide students to find their potential, so they can make a difference in our world.

 

 

Mark Evich (Middletown High School)

Mark graduated from Middletown High School with honors. He will be attending Salisbury University. Mark is majoring in Finance and will minor in Accounting.  Mark hopes to use his degree to become an investment banker or financial advisor.  Mark was a member of the Middletown football program for 13 years and was a team captain his senior year.

 

Matthew Dillard (Middletown High School)

Matthew graduated with highest honors from Middletown High School in May of 2018 . During his time at Middletown he was a four sport varsity scholar athlete (Football, Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Baseball) and a member of four Honor Societies (National, Science, Math, and Art). In 2017 he was a part of the first baseball state championship in Middletown’s school history. In the fall he will attend Johns Hopkins University to play baseball and pursue a degree in Molecular and Biochemical Engineering.

 

Mickayla Bacorn (Middletown High School)

Mickayla Bacorn is attending the University of Maryland Baltimore County to study biochemistry. She is a member of the Honors College and Sherman STEM Teachers Scholars Program. During college, she will work hard in her STEM studies, while continuing her participation in band on trombone and baritone. After her undergraduate studies, Mickayla will pursue graduate studies and possibly medical education. For her career, she would like to research and teach medical biochemistry.

 

Rebecca Ziegler (Middletown) – Ron Engle Scholarship

Hi this is Becca Ziegler. I am so sorry that I never got back to you, I have been away most of the summer. Here’s a bio if you still want it.

I will be attending Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA in the fall of 2018. At Messiah, I plan to pursue a major in Mathematics with Secondary Education, along with a minor in dance. After college I hope to come back to Maryland to teach Middle School Math and be a part time dance teacher. As I look toward my future I aspire to be as inspirational to my students as my Myersville and Middletown teachers have been to me.

 

Sydney Shipe (Middletown High School)

Sydney Shipe graduated from Middletown High School with Highest Honors. During her time at Middletown she was a varsity cheerleader and varsity softball player. Sydney was also the Yearbook Photo Editor and a member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Quill and Scroll International Honor Society. She will continue her education at Loyola University Chicago, majoring in biology and minoring in photography. After graduating Sydney plans to continue her education by attending medical school to become a trauma or cardiothoracic surgeon.
